As Biggie Smalls once said, Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way. By becoming a member or donor, you help us award students fellowships so they can participate in our paid programs for free; offer our reading series for free and pay our poets to read; and offer more work-study opportunities for our interns. With your help, since the inception of our fellowship program in the fall of 2015, we’ve awarded 211 full fellowships and offered 179 partial awards to fellowship finalists and semifinalists to enroll in our workshops and retreats for free or at reduced cost—almost 100% of which have gone to students from historically underserved communities. All together these students have saved over $99,000 in tuition.
All member benefits are good for one year. Brooklyn Poets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized under the Internal Revenue Code, so all contributions are tax-deductible. If you wish to donate by check, charitable account or some other means, please contact Executive Director Jason Koo at koo@brooklynpoets.org.
